Hey All,
A few weeks back I picked up a set of scales from Tommythewho, they were the Bocote/Osage ones he posted. Well when I got them I was floored, they are a perfect combo. Thanks again Tommy. I was set to go on vacation less than a week later so I could not start any projects. While I was away, I purchased the King. It was waiting for me when I got home. Well needless to say looking at all the folks customizing there Kings here it was my turn. The scales were a no brainer, but I decided to de-ramp and strip the black. The de-ramping went very well, I used my 1X30 belt sander and a big bucket of water to keep things cool. In less than 20 min all was good, I then stripped it and finished it with 400 and 4-O steel wool, I like a satin finish, not sure if im going to patina it yet. When all done it was time to make some leather for it. I wanted to make a robust but simple design for it. Went with a belt loop top and a square bottom, also added a piece in the back for a leg tie down or to help when attaching to a pack. I was a little on the fence about making it but I like the way it came out. I am in the process of making a pouch for the front for a small tin. Enough blabbing check out the pics.

Thanks for looking.

Tommy is an artist. Best looking wood grips Ive ever seen. I really like that sheath too.

Great scales, Check.
Superb stripped & de-ramped 9, Check.
Excellent sheath, Check.

That is a awesome package Pugs! I like the back of that sheath a lot, nicely designed to include the lashing points! Excellent work.

Everything looks great! The scales are perfect and the metalwork looks good. Now get rid of that swedge, ala the Haze BK9, and it's perfect!

You've got to love that Becker BK-9! Finely done I say!

Thank you

Very impressed with the sheath man! Great job putting it together!

I really like how it came together, Thank you

That's a great package. Love the scales and the sheath.

Scales are bad ass, and thank you

I really like thumb ramps on my blades, but you sir have done a fabulous job and made an awesome nine with all the fixins. I especially like the satin steel-wooled finish. Great job.

very nice looking 9! those scales are a work of art, with the leather it's one hell of a package!

NICE. The handles have a 3-D look to them.
And you made the blade perfectly match that hardware!
What kind of hardware is that? I tried to ask Tom but he is so busy

Looks like regular old SS hardware with philips screws. I have similiar ones on my BK-16. Check the database (link in my sig) and you can find the hardware size, write that down and take it to your local hardware store or Home Depot and you should be able to find them where all the nuts and bolts are.

Here some are on my 16, kind of hard to see because of the angle but they are there haha:
