Reblading Buck knives

buck will replace blades if they are broke
they will not up grade blades to better steel like s30v
but if you have a blade that is worn down
most likely they will replace it if you send it in for sharping at 6$..

I've sent in plenty of 110's for blade upgrades, but i'm pretty sure they stopped doing the upgrades, somebody must have figured out they were losing money on that deal,it was really cheap to send one in for a bg-42 upgrade, wish they still had it though,i'd have some more s30-v

Welcome Arrington, Buck did blade replacements/upgrades up until only about 3yrs. ago . Now its only done on warranty work and the new blade is their standard 420HC . DM

yes they did up grades swaps tell 3 years ago
it was some thing that Joe liked to did for club members
but word got out and every one here wanted one

well they ran out of some for the custom shop orders!!!
and then some of the reblades showed up on ebay
for much more then the cost of the blade..

humm two things learned here ..
1 cant sell a custom if dont have the blade
2 plain jane's with custom blades resell for much much more..

what would you do ?

hew guys i have a question along the same lines i have a 110 that has f/gs that are not factory [found out from this forum] would buck still replace the blade it's worn down to a nub

Best thing to do is call this number and ask that question:

1-800-326-2825

Then maybe let us all know when you get your answer. :)

wolfdog thanks for the number i spoke with a very lady she said as long as the f/g does not interfere with pins they would replace the blade for 10.00$ that includes sharping and return postage

My reason for asking was that I found some older 110s and 112s with good handles and mangled blades. I'd pay to replace the blades. I don't expect them to be covered by the warranty because I'm not the original owner.

Mr. Arrington, Thanks for your honesty . Buck can do it . Then if they are newer knives from 1993 forward then 420HC is fine . If they're older knives then you may want to contact Leroy Remer as he has some of those blades and does good work on the old knives . 619-561-2442 DM

...Leroy's work is gonna leave you with big smiles when those knives come back home...:thumbup:

CM, Your welcome . He's probably done about two dozen for me thru the years and I've been pleased w/ his work . When the 110 comes back, let us know it looks to you . DM

I sent my dad's old 307 for a new main clip blade two years ago - no problem, it came back all cleaned up and with a new blade.

fantastic service, in just 4 weeks

And that was sending it from the UK - we did it through Whitby, who were the only Buck dealer in the UK at the time
