My Dad had this box that came out of the attic area of his shop. A jewel was sitting inside just waiting for a nut case like me to find. It was a rusted piece of steel that vaguely resembled a knfe.

I decided it needed to be reborn rather than relegated to the "attic box" were tools go to die. It sat around my shop for month, and today (thanks to the rain) I got to play around with what I WANTED to rather than what I HAD to do.

I had a piece of Bocote, and some unused belts for my 36" grinder. I wish I had taken some pics of the before, but I was in a "zone". Knew it would be a fun project, and my self gratifying brain kicked in. All else was of no consequence to me.

It came out pretty good. It sharpened up to a razor edge. Pics along with an old Norlund axe that I saved as well. The axe is now my favorite for carving.

Thanks :) It wasn't to hard with the grinder. There was not a lot of pitting, just surface rust really. I used some old tent stakes for the pins. Worked pretty well.

Fantastic work man, that looks great. That wood has some great lines in it too.

What an awesome looking knife! It will be good to go for years to come. Nice work.

Thanks guys!!! :) I should have extended the scales all the way to the grind line, but I messed up. It feels good, but just a little on the short side as far has the handle goes. I stink at working with leather, but a sheath is next.
