A fellow friend of mine that I have made knives for in the past asked me to rebuild a KA-BAR 1189 that he had been given by his father.
In the process of rebuilding I am having trouble finding somewhere to purchase the little brass pins that hold the scales to the brass liners.
From my measurements they seem to have around a 0.05" hollow shaft and a flat head. Any help in directing me to someone, or somewhere
that I could get some of these pins from would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Derek

There are many places that have the brass pin stock. A few places that come to mind are Jantz Supply and USA Knife Makers. I have also heard that places like Ace Hardware carry some sizes of brass pin stock.

Hope that helps.

I get all kinds of tiny pins and tubes at my local True Value. Nice thing is you can bring in the object and try the fit- no need to be a competent measurer.

My apologies for posting in the wrong forum. Must have been redirected before posting this. Thanks for the help, found the pin stock I needed and it is on order. Oh, and thanks for nothing scrteened porch.
