reccomend a take down tool for Strider SNG/SMF

I just got 3 new striders (SNG, PT, SMF) and on the SNG the blade was loose. SO i tightened it just using the allen wrench. But now it is to tight and the allen wrench side spins the opposite side when I try to loosen. So i need a way to hold the other side. It is really frustrating.

Anyone know a cheap fix for this? I just need the screw to back off a tad.


Why doesn't Strider provide this tool for us?

Hi Colubrid. I used a large flathead screwdriver to take apart my old SMF, it's possible.
For my new SMF I just bought a spanner bit for $32+s&h from this link http://www.monkeydepot.com/PSD_Products_Spanner_Bit_Deluxe_Version_p/al0002-xe197.htm But sorry, I am not going to loan it to anyone. You can have a basic version of it for $25, here http://www.monkeydepot.com/PSD_Products_Spanner_Bit_p/al0001-xc243.htm
But remember, some Striders have LockTight applied to the pivot (some don't) , so you would have to heat it with a good soldering iron for 5-10 minutes to break it lose before unscrewing it. Good luck!

Sum guy on YouTube has a full break down of a SNG. It think he was using a Hinderer made strider break down tool er' sum'in like that
