What are some good files for doing work on a spine of a blade..i am thinking of picking up a bk2 for a project,,I don't need or want the ferrari of files but don't want the yugo of them either

Grobet are very good. Nicholson used to be great but have fallen off since production has moved out of the U.S. You should check the hardness at the spine of your knife with a worn file and make sure it will cut before attempting any work with a new one: if the spine is hard it could damage your file, and you might need to use a diamond file instead in that case.

Find a harbor freight they have a set of small diamond files.

Try Vixen files with the curved tooth body. I've used them and they work. Good quality. Still, if the blade is heat treated cutting it may be difficult. DM
