I've been looking for a knife with a blade around 5-7 inches.
I live in South Florida, so a knife without needed care (looking at you 1095 Stainless) to prevent rust.
Pluse my price range is less than $100

Onto the Knives

My first choice was a Becker BK7, 1095-but it's supposedly treated to prevent rust (is this true?).
Next was the Ontario RD-7, I hear 5160 is supposed to be good against rust?

Lastly was a Boker I found, but apparently it's not out yet, I wanted to know if someone knew anything about it.

Find it here ->> http://www.knifecenter.com/kc_new/store_detail.html?s=BO02BO272

The new Cold Steel SRK in San Mai 3 might be something to look into. It is very thick and rust resistant. The layers should make it tough as well. Right at the $100 mark

I just have a personal preference to stay away from Cold Steel nor do I like the look of the knife, but I may consider it.

The classic Buck 119 is another option. It is a great knife. Easy to put a hair popping edge on and rust resistant. Not the toughest steel in the world though.

The KaBar next generation knives are stainless, and are around $70-80. I haven't tried them, but I beat on a standard Kabar quite a bit, and it asked for more.

I've considered a a ka-bar, but still perfer a wider knife for the purpose of a survival kit.

Spyderco Rock Salt or Warrior. These 2 blades are made from H1 steel that is rust resistant. The steel is also work hardened.

It's fairly easy given the grind angles. They take a laser like edge with some effort and can be maintained with minimal effort.

i second the rock salt recommendation but it'll be pushing your price range. imo, its worth it. lots of belly and the h1 is great for beating on and not worrying about rust. although, i checked out that boker and it looks like its gonna be a great knife. $70 for D2 and G10 with a full tang and full flat grind is pretty damn good. i'm adding that to my own list : )

That Boker Vox Rold looks pretty cool. I've wanted a Vox knife but haven't ever had the $$$ without something more important to spend it on. Maybe now that he's going to have production models I'll grab one.

I was considering the Spyderco Rock Salt, but I could hardly find any dealer with the knife anywhere near $100. It was always over...

I second a Ka bar.Specifically the Ka Bar Becker BK -2. Excellent value for around 60 bucks.

The Outcast rocks once the edge is thinned and reprofiled. The hardness on my blade has to be 62+. It is also coated, so you shouldn't have any serious corrosion issues.
