I'm not good with the kind of words I would need to adequately describe how I feel after receiving my Kothimoda today. I was prepared to be impressed and impressed I am. Very impressed. Being a relative newcomer to HI Khukuris I am absolutely amazed at what the Kamis can do. I feel honored to posess such a fine piece of art and will cherish it for years to come, and hopefully pass it on to my son one day.

Thank you Uncle, and thank you Bura!

Yes! The sunar! Very nice work. He must have very good eyesight. I have to squint to see all the tiny details!!

........after holding it and examining it for hours now, I must say, and this might sound weird......I feel some sort of aura or presence surrounding it......don't laugh, I can't explain it, especially since I'm not a very "spiritual" person..

Can anyone enlighten me?

Or am I just being "romantic"?

I am rather dumbfounded right now.....

Roger that's common with all HI Khukuri's. You aren't the first to feel that Spirit, it has been commented on many times in the forum.
Some are stronger than others in Spirit and mine all speak to me differently.

But yes, I definitely feel an aura with some of the blades.. especially the tarwar I received a while back. A rather aggressive spirit in that, I think.

Oh and got the left-handed rig today Uncle, great piece of work!

Well I just received my village "paratrooper" khuk. I'm not sure yet what it is trying to tell me, but regardless, I am not going to jump out of a perfectly good airplane!

I was showing off my Kothimoda to some friends today, and both of them admired the beautiful silver work on the scabbard..They agreed that the man who crafted it is very talented.

About the Khukuri itself, they almost refuse to believe it was handmade. My one buddy says there is no way the blade was made by hand, even after I told him how it was made.

I will have to show him the links to the pages that show where it was made!!!

Roger,

You'll find that this and other good khukuris grow on you...

Enjoy them.

Mike, you're going to have to keep us updated about the paratrooper special. It is definitely a unique little khuk!

Why don't we call this one the HI "Chute Knife?"

It looks to me like it was made by the same man who made another villager khuk that I have. It is a sturdy little thing. I regret that my present physical condition makes it impossible for me to give a real performance report.

I tried to do a little khuk work in the back yard last weekend, and after 5 minutes it was back in the bed and another pain pill!

The spirit is willing but the flesh (and bone) is still too weak!
