The problem with most the out of production knives I want is that I am unwilling to pay the secondary market price to obtain one. With this Case Barlow I have literally not seen one for sale in over a year. This one in particular is from the antique tang stamp series from 2012 with second cut red stag. As soon as I saw a photo I knew I must have it.

I have called master and platinum case dealers and scoured the web...only could find a few pictures and definitely didnt find one for sale. Daily bay searches of "case barlow" finally paid off as one popped up as a BIN with a best offer option. Being a tightwad I had to put an offer in to save a few bucks and luckily the seller accepted before someone else took it at full price.

Very pleased with this one. Nicely matched covers, no gaps in the liners, half stops with great snap, and centered blades. Bolsters have a better polish than my other case barlows. Feels good to have this in my hands and will definitely ne my easy chair knife for a while,

Between this and my blood red diamond jack that should be showing up in the next couple weeks I should be in a knife joy coma until the new year.

Looks very interesting, I like it. In the scheme of things, you see very few newer Case Barlows it seems, I'd love to see them elaborate on the pattern more.

Wow, those must have come and gone fast. Congratulations on your find! :)

Looking good.

Part of the fun is the "hunt".

It sure can be! After a while, though, there's nothing quite like the finding and the Having. (The "hunt" is often more fun for me in retrospect. ;))

Agreed. Case makes a fine barlow-- well-proportioned, and with the secondary pen behind the main (I think pens look better in front, but for actual use I prefer the pile side location).

Thanks for the compliments everyone. Case makes a fine barlow and its a shame they don't produce more of that pattern.

That pocket worn blue is another I'm trying to locate...the pocket worn red is my second favorite case barlow.

I like that design better than that of my blue, the stamped bolster instead of a shield. Case also does a good job with their pocket-worn reds' hue and saturation, at least in the examples I've seen (including yours, here). Nice knife!
