Need to try oil but I have 15 year old Benchmade 710s that open and close smoothly without oil. (?)
It's really tight and worse for me (lefty and it has a righty liner lock). (I loosened the pivot a bit and the blade moved well off center; tightened it to get it back.) The thumb hole is also a bit small --- or so it seems in its present condition. The larger bladed Mannix II XL opens much more smoothly but, of course, costs much more.
Still, I'm not complaining. For about $30 it's incredible and maybe the best value out there. Plus, the sharpness of the blade is incredible. (Yeah, sharper than the 710s.)
I'm thinking of returning and maybe getting a black one this time. (Just for looks.)
If I have my words right the tenacious has no choil for some reason and this might present the risk of a cut thumb when closing with one hand.
