Uncle Bill,
I received my plain YCS today. It's a beautiful knife, fit and finish first rate(as always). Thanks for shipping it so quickly.

Sincerely,
Mike

Mike I have two questions.
Is this the YCS that appeared to not have her fullers and if so does she have them or not?
When you gonna try her out?:)
Guess that was actually 3 questions.;)

Yvsa,
I'm not sure what you mean by the fullers, it has the brass end cap and the brass hilt band between the blade and handle without the designs imbedded into the handle itself. And I haven't decided whether I'm going to use it or just keep it in my collection. It's a beauty of a knife. However it's a great design and I'll probably end up using it at some point.

Mike

Mike a fuller is a long depression in the blade that's usually a sorta rounded out shape. The standard YCS is supposed to have two fullers running parallel with one another.
One of the pix showed what looked like a YCS without any fullers, actually more of a flat blade with the YCS profile.
Fullers add strength while alos lightening the weight of a knife or sword, kinda sorta like an I beam.

The plain YCS has been coming without fullers and standard karda and chakma. Thoe made by Sanu are very well done, tho.

Yvsa,
The blade doesn't have a fuller(should have known that,Duh). But like Uncle Bill said it's still top quality, tho a little on the heavy side. It'll probably chop like nobodies business!
Mike

Thanks Mike.
To me and some others the YCS chops like a much heavier khuk and I would be very interested in the performance of yours.
Any idea of it's wweight?

Yvsa,
I'd say it weighs a little over 2#'s but I haven't weighed it. I'll try to remember to take to work and put it on the shipping scale and find out.
Mike
