Receiving Alerts For “New” Threads That Aren’t New.

I’ve reported this issue before and it’s still happening. I’m subscribed to a few of the exchange forums so that I receive alerts for new threads that are posted, in this instance the Traditional Exchange is the example. There’s two threads that were started earlier today and I’ve received alerts every time a change is made in those threads (I’m not “watching” them) but the alert is saying that a new thread has been posted so I get a new email and an alert here at the forum. These threads were clearly posted 6+ hours ago so they certainly aren’t new, yet I keep getting alerted to them.

I posted a thread here previously regarding this exact same scenario and nothing has been fixed. I can log out, unsubscribe to all the forums, redo the subscriptions, clear cookies, etc, with no change for the better.

Links for the top two threads are posted below the picture so the discrepancy in the times can be seen. I’ve gotten “new thread” alerts for these threads multiple times tonight.

I think it’s because those threads got caught in the spam filter and had to be manually approved

I could understand if this was the case getting the original alert and then the alert when the thread gets approved and actually posted but I will get “new thread” alerts for these every time a change is made in them, even days from now long after they’ve been approved and active. Every week there’s threads that take on this behavior so I’m getting massive amounts of emails for “new” threads that aren’t new at all. Here’s a screen shot of my e-mail trash, you can see I got 3 “new thread” alerts so far for one sale thread in my example above, 2 for the other, and I expect more.

Literally as I was typing this out, I got a “new thread” alert for a thread that’s been posted and active for a week now! It was posted on March 6th and hasn’t had a post in it since the 10th. It was however just edited…so it sent me a “new thread” alert and email. It’s not a thread I’m following or subscribed to. This is the 4th “new thread” alert I’ve received for this one.

I’m sorry I can’t help more but it definitely has something to do with the spam filter and having to manually approve threads. The last thread you mention while not new had to be manually approved this morning at 8:58.

There's no way for me to change the behavior of the alerts. If editing threads causes an alert to be sent out, I can't do anything about that.
