Recent Belt Sheath

I go back and forth with a maker local to me and he recently brought me some little 'neck knives' to play with. It came with a pretty standard kydex sheath and while playing with wearing it I found a tek-lok sat great with it positioned right around my belt buckle for a left hand draw. It got me thinking about integrating it into a belt as a somewhat hidden back up knife. In some free time I think version two needs a Kydex liner as I can see myself cutting it's pocket, and I'll need to wrap the knife with some leather dyed to match to help in blending.

All in all it was a fun break from the norm and I thought someone here might enjoy it!

That's pretty nifty!

You could build a welt into the design so you wouldn't need a liner, but either way would be cool. I don't think the design would work for me, I could see cutting my gut, but for those with a flat stomach it would be really handy. The knife would have to be stainless too. I'm sure I'd inadvertently corrode the thing if it wasn't SS. Belt looks great too. :)

Thanks for the words! It does have a welt, but I'm still concerned long term how it will fair and think a thin kydex liner would also allow a firmer 'bite' on the blade when inserted with an easier release.

Definitely not for everyone but nice to think outside of the box some days :)

I think it´s a nice design and very nicely done but are you not affraid the knife falls out or loosing it. Pricking yourself when driving a car, just a question. No retention to keep the knive in.

I've been wearing this particular belt since February to test this, I wasn't afraid of retention but was concerned about the possibility of a sharp knife cutting through the leather due to the flex a belt receives. After use the main dislike for me is that the handles need to be flat pushes the belt billet away from the body (apparent in photos) which tends to hang up if you brush past something the wrong way. The tek-lok allowed the knife to sit to the right of the buckle and go across that portion suspended where it did not grab as much. Knife hasn't found its way loose yet just due to the friction fit - think a kydex liner as mentioned would be a good addition to help not only for a firmer retention but a smoother draw.

just a though, but the kydex liner might also help to alleviate the problem with the knife handle sticking out by forming a slight curve on the inside with the kydex. that would mean that the tip of the knife would rise slightly as the handle gets closer to the body, however, the rising tip portion might be concealed by the belt end.
