Recent haul!

Did you and Pokt go to the same gun show? The Alpha Hunter looks better not having the tanto shape. Good finds. DM

No, I got these at a sale Buck had a little while ago. I live pretty close to the factory. And that would be a CSAR, not an Alpha Hunter. With the new grind on it, it may even work for skinning.

Yes, the CSAR it is. Without much close inspection the regrind improved it's looks. DM

I am unsure how, but I managed to break the very tip of it off. Buck was generous enough to regrind it for me, no charge. They sharpened the new belly as well. I love the folks down at Buck.

My Ergo Hunter Pro is one of my favorites. It's always in my pack when I'm hunting. The thing holds an edge like no other. Anything deer or smaller usually gets the 110 or 560; they're a better size for field dressing IMHO.

Your CSAR is the 420HC model right? I've abused the heck out of my ATS34 CSART.

Good haul none the less!

It is one of my favorite blades. I got it for a steal at $50 at a Buck sale as well, so that's a plus. And the 113 up there will do perfectly for anything smaller. I hope to put one or both to use this upcoming season.
And yeah, it is 420. I am not too fond of it, tbh. I have acquired knives since then that are superior to my needs.

Ferah, could you expound on your last sentence. ^DM

I bought that knife as my hard use blade, primarily because of its weight. I love a heavy knife. A year or so after I bought it, I managed to win this in a GAW

A much heavier blade, and the steel holds an edge longer. I then bought my 692, and the need for that particular knife has gone away. But since when have I needed a knife to own one?
