I should have the names to be added to the OINK roster sometime this week.

Chop chop man. I was just thinking that if some serious trough slopping by the new guys doesn't go on, there might not be future hogs every year at Blade. Remember guys one or two blades does not a Hog make. :D

To be a hog it is about more than just owning some knives. Being a Hog is all about the brotherhood of INFI. It is forum participation, not just here but at the home forum. It is helping guide new piglets toward the knowledge of all things Busse. It is helping out a fellow Hog when he is down, as long as he isn't sniffing around your trough. It is inspiring a love of all things Busse in fellow knife nuts like they have never experienced before. We had a couple of piglets at the induction that didn't make it this year and they should not feal slighted in the least. By this time next year I bet we will be counting you among the few, the proud, the regretless Hogs!

The older Hogs can tell when the piglets are ready to take the next step and claim their place in the mighty trough that is OINK!!!!!!!!!

As one of the so named Piglets, I was glad to see that neither of us made HOGDOM this year. When they started asking questions about number of Busses and t-shirt size, I was concerned that our being named HOGs would lessen the experience for those that truely deserved the honor. I'm also glad to see that the number of knives isn't the only thing considered in being named a HOG. For what it's worth, I do hope to achieve HOG status in the future, but only as long as the requirements are not relaxed. After having met a number of you, I have a feeling that becoming a HOG is an honor that runs a distant second place to the kinship that you feel with a great group of people like this and the friendships that are forged here.

Having said that, and since I'm not a HOG, I will be participating in the "Pop and Chop" at Blade '06 as a rat. I'll be ready to go, and I want this to be a close contest, so you HOGs better start practicing now! I'm going to Home Depot this weekend to buy a HUGE amount of lumber. I understand Jerry's brother is the man to topple in this arena.

I bought five in a month. Does that get me in the ballpark? I doubt that I'll be able to sustain this pace, but you never know.

I agree with Proporker and Poorguy.

I've also said in the past that it is not a state of wealth, but rather a state of mind. I also consider a state of time, time spent on the forums, answering questions and just hanging with the rest of the porkers ;)

I also agree you must be ready to step up when others are in need, that's one reason I'm anxiously awaiting the HI Ebay auction. I might not be able to win them but I'll give it a try ;) But that's just me I'm a giver ;):p
