Recent Knife Shop Find

I was tagging along with my son at one of the local knife shops this week and came across about a half dozen nice Busses on consignment. This one immediately caught my eye and my son said the price was right.

Brand new NMSFNO sage with hand finished scales (not sure of the color). Not a mark on it and it has an awesome edge.

Needless to say it had to come home with me.

I keep waiting for a moment like that.

I have still never seen a Busse in a shop or store, or at a gun show, or at a pawn shop.

A guy can dream.

Hopefully you got it at a great price.

Looks like sage/black canvas?
 
Price was appropriate. They actually had a few more. I am very tempted to put a sage/green linen game warden on layaway.

I really like the for lack of a better term upper choil on the NMSFNO. It offers you the ability to choke up and control the beast even more. I have had a couple through my hands but the hand shaped scales win. I really wish the BWM was offered with hand shaped scales.

Lets see in 2 months you now own six Busse knives :rolleyes:
 
Nice find i've never seen any Busse's in any shops around Mo. Or at any gunshows but i'd like too. Sounds like your son has a good eye for quality. :thumbup:;)
 
I scored my first busse at a local shop in 2004 it started the crazy quest for infi. I bet its the same shop.It was a public defender.
 
Nice knife. I havn't seen any Busse knives in a pawn shop or gun/knife show before, but i still look around for them.

Don't be surprised if you soon develop the urge to go back and clean out the rest of their Busse stock. ;)
 
So true

I had to really fight the urge to go back yesterday on the way home.

The Game Warden would be a nice score but of the knives we saw there it was the only one I feel was priced too high, according to current prices on the exchange.

I may stop by in a week or two and see if the consignment price has come down.

I always look for Busse's at the local gun shows and knife shops also . I have seen one at a gun show in Fort Worth , it was a CGASH-1 with magnum scales and the guy wanted like 6 or 7 hundred dollars for it. I told him that I had one but mine had standard scales and I would like to hold it and see how the mags felt ,which he obliged. With such thick stock my reasoning was I would not need magnum sized slabs , and after holding that knife I was reassured of my decision.
 
That is cool, I have never seen a Busskin blade for sale in my AO. Well, that is not true becuase there is a few times a couple of us have a show and tell but that is not a for sale deal.

We still need to set up a get together somewhere.
 
I think I will be up to steal my dad's sled during the Alaska day weekend. Maybe we could go to the shooting range for the afternoon.

No not me.
I haven't bought many of the new knives.
Only a SAR4LE, BAD, & BOSS Street.

But I do need to sell a few when I get a chance.

Got to have the funds for my custom shop order from many many moons ago.
I just know that Garth is going to get them done one day. :D
