Hey Guys,

I've been working to get my edge game a bit better as well as doing more different/challenging work in general - I just finished this brown horsehide pancake sheath that is molded for a ZT 620/630. These knives are plenty big, so freeing up some pocket room makes sense to me! The sheath is stout and flexible, so it should carry like a dream! Worst thing (for me anyway...) is doing the belt slots; right now I'm using a round punch for each end of the slot and connecting the holes with knife cuts. If I do more of these in the future I'm going to invest in a quality oblong punch! Thanks for looking!

Looking good! That reminds me to go back to an old project I had started for myself for a Strider AR!!

Looks good. Edges are nice. Did you ever think of trying to finish and slick the belts slots just the same as the edges?

Nice job. Yep a good bag punch will help ya. I use a 2" size for such work. It'll prevent overrun of the knife cuts like ya do have on that left side. Very clean work.

Looks good. Nice edges.

Top Tip:
With a knife, always cut out of a corner, not into it. I would cut out of one punched circle 7/8s of the way to the other and then turn the piece and cut the last 1/8 from the other circle out to the existing cut.

And if you work with paper...
For scissors it is the opposite :)

Anyone have any tips for finishing the inside slot edges?

I took Dave's advice a little over a year ago and bought a nice punch so my slots don't need much clean up. I do however edge the backside of the slots so that needs cleaned up a little. I just use a Q-tip to apply a couple coats of gum trag and then slick it with the point of an antler tine.
