I've been busy :D

Here is a yard sale find that honestly I picked up to work on my skills - I was surprised at the results. No name on it and probably not worth much but it was a fun project.

Plumb cruiser - check out the crazy screw in this one (I'm saving it :)). The head was actually on pretty tight but I couldn't stand leaving the nails in there. I'm really happy the way my wedge job turned out.

Marbles safety hatchet #6 - This was in pretty good shape. I put in a couple of small wedges in the ends where they were missing.

Grey Gorge - this one turned out purdy, lots of elbow grease to get it here. Can't wait for my handles to arrive.

Collins 1944 Machete - I love this thing, super balance and it took a wicked edge.

I really like the cheeks on that Grey Gorge. I bet it will become your go to chopper.

Thanks guys! All of you who frequent this forum have been a big inspiration to me. I'm really having a great time restoring these old tools, it's very rewarding. Keeps me away from the knife addiction too which can be very expensive.

Got the Grey Gorge hung last night (30in). This was my first time re-handling a full size axe and it took quite a bit of work. The eye was a bit small so lots of shaping as I went along was necessary. I also sanded the handle to finish it out some. Came out really nice I think. I made lots of mistakes but I'll do better on the next one. I have a 3.2 SB Plumb I just got yesterday that is next on the list.

i like what you did with the plumb. i too, wouldnt have 'been able to live' with the screw and such in the wedge... it turned out great :)

Really nice job on those! I noticed that the Grey Gorge has my name on it...go ahead and send it back to me! ;) I've actually been wanting to find one simply because it says "Memphis." Lol Now, looking at yours, it looks like a great profile to boot!
