Howdy all

I feel a little guilty for my lack of participation on this forum lately. My life has changed, just slightly, in the last few months. A little personal history for those of you who don't know. For the last 3-3 1/2 years the company I work for, Union Pacific RR, has paid me to stay home with a small percentage cut in pay while maintaining all benefits:eek:. How cool is that! Stay home and get paid to make knives. Well that sweet, sweet ride has come to an end. I got the call to return to work the same week I was in Arizona taking my MS performance test with Tim Hancock, yep I passed:D. The timing to return to work couldn't have come at a more crappy time. There wasn't enough time between work and family to submit the caliber of knives I wanted to in Atlanta. I'm still making knives, filling orders, and preparing for the MS test. Here's a couple that went out this week.

First one is a southwest style bowie with coffin handle. Ladder pattern blade and guard, stainless and jewelers bronze for the spacers and frame and jewelers bronze for the pins.

The second is a W2 fighter with bronze guard and some of Mark's(It's a burl) killer Koa.

Hope you like em'

Lookin good Mike, Thats the problem with a real job they can get in the way of good times BUT, it sounds like you had it pretty darn sweet the last 3 1/2 yrs.

Looking good on both, Mike. Great hamon ,too.

(Just think, now you can work twice as much. Lucky you.)

Great work as always Mike. Congrats on the test and all the best for the judging.
Cheers Keith

Thank God!!! you are back at work full time and full pay. Now your contributions will keep me in Social Security checks:D........not sure there will be any left for you when you get there, but thanks any way;)

Great stuff Mike !!!

Good to see you pop in, even if it's only occasionally:p

congratulations Mike! Good to see you post some work here again. I have no doubt you will find a way to make everything work in the end.

I'm loving that coffin handled bowie. Not as much the other one. Just doesn't say 'Quesenberry' to me in the stabby way I'm used to. I'm confused:confused:.

Sorry Paul, your not getting any of my hard earned money. I pay into Railroad Retirement, a completely separate entity:p

Lorien - I love that knife! It had a crazy cool hamon(much better in person) with a little more belly and recurve than I've done in the past, which I think is just plain sexy. The handle had some of the best Koa I've ever used and it fit like a glove to my hand. I really enjoy doing knives like this, they're quick and easy to do and much more functional than a coffin handle bowie. I guess what I'm trying to say is, one is more likely to get used than the other.

That I 'like them' would be a gross understatement - both beauties but especially the coffin handled Bowie.

BTW A job aint nothing but a low of work!

Mike, Both of these are awesome. Is this the same fighter you brought over to Elko a while back? Too bad work is getting in your way of the MS journey. Just look at it this way the journey will last longer. and the destination will be much more enjoyable. Looking forward to your next run to Elko.
