Bought a cqc-8, it was listed as NIB, this was not the case, and the blade is far off center. I was curious if anyone had any tips for correcting this, short of sending it home for adjustment. Thanks

There's really not a whole lot that can be done to screw this up. I'd take it apart... clean it up... finesse it back together, and it should be fine. As long as the pivot assy and washers haven't been excessively worn or compromised, you shouldn't have a problem. If your unsure about your own capabilities then just send it in.

Done that already.

It could be the second detent on the non locking side pushing the blade over.

Does the blade center if you tighten the pivot up ?

Actually it centers when I loosen it a little, If I tighten the pivot enough to eliminate all the play, shes back off on the clip side. Guess I could put some kind of shim under the pivot screw, but I really don't want to do that.

You don't want to start putting bits in that you don't need, I would try giving the 2nd detent more pressure and see if that fixes it.

Problem solved! Haze, you are the man! Thanks again for your help, and for sharing your knowledge.
