Someone recently posted a picture (I believe it was in this forum) of a stacked-leather puuko. It was a good-looking knife, but now I can't seem to find that thread!

Can anyone remember which thread it was, or link me to similar knives?

Thanks,

Frosty

There was a guy on here that every week would post up a batch of touched up Lauri blades with beautiful leather and birch bark stacked handles in the 50 dollar price range. Can't remember the guy's name though...

50% Sure his name is KE Linblad here on the forums. Kella also makes a line of stacked handles called Kullervo.

Just a quick FYI, the handle on that Puukko is not leather. That is stacked birch. Which, if I may give my humble opining, is a very fine handle material, really love the stuff.

God bless,

Thanks, folks. Those are some sweet looking knives! gruntmedik was right, however...the specific thread I was looking for was in the Traditional Forum, where I also spend a lot of time.

Thanks for the help,

Frosty

Birch bark is a wonderful material: it feels like velvet, but grips like G-10. Always warm and, due to the big amount of resin inside, it doesn't get effected by humidity or aridity.

Ros Arms (BF member) has many models with stacked birch handles. I've had a few and they were very grippy and comfortable.
Been using this in the kitchen for a few years now.
