Recharagable or Throw Aways

So I have two new flashlights enroute ,thanks to reading so much about them on this site. A TM 303X which i think is a Q3(I hope..I was looking and the Q3 was replaced by it, same specs) and a Surefire E2D . We use flashlights a bunch and if they fall into the wrong hands( the kids when Im not watching) we go through some serious batteries.(truth be told I kinda cant help burn some lumens for no good reason either not just the kids)

So which to buy? A rechargable systems or just bulk batteries?

And which rechargable batteries are the same as the cr123a's(RCR123)?

Is there a recharger that does ALL sizes of batteries so we could have that option as well, not just 123s etc?

What type of recharger? What is protected verus not protected?

What would be a upgrade in power or which is less?

Any links to fair prices on both batteries and rechargers, flashlights etc? Online or Radio Shack or what?

I have a thing for Silver or chrome flashlights but cant really tell too good from pictures at stores ive been online, seen some nice ones on this site but thier names were not mentioned, which flashlight is nice and chrome and weather proff =) hehe thanks
 
NiMH for the common sized rechargeables like AA and AAA. There are rechargable 123 types but it gets a little complicated and I don't know much about them. Go to Candlepowerforums and you can read tons about it.

We bought a Coleman wall-plug flashlight . Holds charge for about 2 hours=$10 bucks. Since we have a generator,recharging is not a problem. Also have a hand lantern that recharges from house current or vehicle lighter receptacle. In the past,we found most rechargable batteries & kits had very limited reserve. Things may have changed in recent years .
Whatever you do,remember ,price is forgotten IF you buy quality.

Rechargables don't work in all lights. The boost circuit in most 1x123 lights MAY fry the LED. Incans will pop..They're 4.2V off the charger and 3.7 after...
Some are protected against over discharge which kills the battery
