I've been using Surefire and Fenix lights for some time now. Needless to say I've burned through a lot of 123 batteries. For all of the batteries I've bought I could have bought a couple rechargeable Surefires. I would like to get a rechargeable light for at home, with multiple settings, at least top setting of 300 lumens. Right now I have a Fenix TK75, Surefire 6PL, Surefire G2L and assorted AA and D lights. I am looking to spend the least I have to but I want to buy quality. I also want a light that comes with its own charger, I've seen a few that you have to buy the charger separately.

Also, this will be a home light, but any car charger optional lights are fine too.

Instead of buying a whole new light, why don't you consider Rechargable batteries for your existing lights? Sanyo Eneloop batteries are some of the best AA and AAA rechargable batteries on the market. You can get a Charger, AA and AAA bettery set for a reasonable price. The set that I got comes with 4-AAA, 8-AA and one charger that does 2 or 4 batteries at a time.

Goinggear.com a Bladeforums.com dealer has RCR123 rechargable batteries and smart chargers.

I'll second for the rechargeable batteries route. After years of disposables I finally went this route. Wish I'd done it years ago. Got a old cigar case to hold charged cells, and got a smart charger:Sony BCG34HRE4KN Cycle Energy Quick with Refresh Charger. Sold my old Cr123 stuff and went all aaa and aa. My primary EDC flashlight is a Zebralight SC52. You can be set up with charger and light and good to go for right at $100. A little less lumens than you are looking for at 280 but that's off a single cell. The zebralight even has a way to check the charge of a cell. (Click it 4 times in rapid succession. 4 blinks means you're fully charged)

Nice to be running rechargeables in all the remotes and everything else around the house.

Best to stick with rechargables, Li-ion batteries makes the light a little brighter too because of the higher voltage and increased runtimes and increased amount of money to spend on knives. Or you could buy an Eagletac with a rechargable battery pack built into it.

Nitecore also makes flashlights with built-in chargers and comes with a battery as well. They charge via USB so either a computer or a car adapter or wall adapter.

I'll reiterate some good counsel that has been given here. Look at the Streamlight Strion LED and Stinger LED. I have both in my vehicle, with light cones to direct traffic when I park cars for a charity. Awesome lights. Love the strobe feature. I also have a pile of Eneloop AA rechargeable batteries that I use in various lights, and they are awesome. You can get a lot of light out of a Fenix or Quark 2xAA.

If you want to blow your mind, get a Fenix PD35 and an 18650 rechargeable battery (or two) with charger. I use AW brand 18650's. It will rock your world, and you will never view flashlights the same again. Huge, huge volumes of lumens out of something about the size of a fat cigar. Trust Powernoodle on this one.

You must use them frequently....

I have a fenix pd30 with rechargable rcr123a by tenergy and they still are going good! I have about 6 charged rcr123 and I suspect it will take me years to get through those. My charger has dust on it..

I use about once a month though for random things or night hikes/camp.

Looks like a holiday piece, but I saw an Ozark Trail (Walmart brand) light at Wally World. Huge rechargeable light, 750 lumens. I checked on their site, and they don't have any lights with that much power listed for sale, but all the lights online are listed as having CREE bulbs. NOTHING on this light in the to be seen even remotely announcing CREE bulb. Just an LED bulb. For 30 bucks more, I can get an 850 lumen Fenix at REI, with a lifetime warranty and a rebate. The light is cheap enough that I should just get it and try it out. It charges through a USP port cord, just like my iPhone and iPod. I would like to hear what you guys think. The Ozark Trail brand is not top quality by any means, but I haven't seen these lights on the shelves at WM.

My sister just gave me a Nitecore MH25 for my birthday, which is something I've wanted because it's rechargeable via USB. It also uses 18650 batteries which I have a ton of (I got 24 of them from taking apart laptop batteries, most contain 6 each). You can use your phone charger, and we all have several of those laying around the house, and even in the car.

A bit pricey, but the surefire unr commander and the R1 lawman are both rechargeable prprietary cells with the option to use cr123 with the included adaptor/sleeve

Or you can go the 18650 route. I picked up a body for my surefire fury to accept 18650's.

Got a Klarus 900 lumen light, rechargeable batteries and a charger in part of a huge trade at a local knife shop . Phenomenal light. Took two dogs on a walk tonight and it outperformed my Fenix tk35.

I am full time cop working third shift for the last 15 years.
I started with the original Streamight Stinger and you would go through bulbs ever couple of months and a new battery ever two or three years. This was the old incandescent model making about 90 lumens.
I went to the Inova T4 five years ago and have never regretted it, no more bulbs and a charge will last a week easy. Have not had to replace the battery yet.

The new Stinger 75458 is the latest from Stramlight. http://www.amazon.com/Streamlight-75458-Rechargeable-Flashlight-PiggyBack/dp/B00BD9OKC6/ref=sr_1_21?ie=UTF8&qid=1384210469&sr=8-21&keywords=Streamlight+stinger

I'm sure the led model holds a charge longer than the older model and there are no bulbs to burn out.
One of the guys at work just bought one and I will get to check it out on Wednesday night so I will be able to update this with some more hands on experience.

I also have a small Luma Power InceDio that runs on a single RC123. It makes an amazing amount of light for such a small light but it will get hot pretty quick.

I picked up a rechargeable Nitecore MH2C which uses a rechargeable 18650 I believe and has the USB charger. It's 800 lumens and has been excellent for everything I have needed since I got it. I use it and carry it daily.
