Rechargeable Flashlights

Seems like we talk alot around here about battery life and flashlights, so I thought I would see how many people have rechargeables, which ones, performance of them versus disosable battery lights, etc. I know that Mag-Lite, Sure-Fire, Streamlight, And Pelican all have rechrageable lights (UK also, I think)

Myself, I have no rechargeable lights, though I have wanted a Streamlight Stinger since one of my LEO friends showed me his.

I have a rechargeable Maglite and a Streamlight Stinger.

I like the stinger better because it's sufficiently bright for my uses and much more compact. It also comes in and extended form, as well as poly model.

As far as performance goes, the UK 6SL (6 c) light is very similar and a bit brighter than my stinger, the stinger has a better and more focussed beam. Battery life goes to the UK.

Any pelican models I've bought have a relatively wide focus/beam, I would assume the rechargeables are the same way.

Well...I have a few rechargeables:
--Stinger: damn good light. Useable light output, super strong contruction, good runtime.
--Streamlight 20X. I have a 35X lamp module in it, and batt. life is averaging 50-60 minutes. Super strong, and super bright.
--Surefire 8X: Good light, but I'd prefer a constant on/off switch as opposed to turning the head assembly.

DaveH: How do you like your UK SL6? I loved mine for diving, but out of the water I find the shape rather cumbersome.

Dano: Is the 35X bulb the one from the larger SL (40,000 CP listed, I think)? Do you remember what the batt life was before you put in the higher intensity bulb?

I would really like a rechargeable flashlight. I was thinking of the Streamlight SL35X rather than a MagLite as I've never liked MagLites after 1)The dreadful light quality with the standard lamps; 2)I was hit with my own 5D cell; 3)The bulb broke.

So then I found out about Pelican and the rechargeable StealthLite...If it's really twice as bright as my standard StealthLites then I'd get one, but, I then found the SureFire 9N, but was told that they're bringing out an M2000 rechargeable that'll blow everything else away; So I'm Saving for the M2000.

Does anyone have the rechargeable StealthLite? How does it rate against other rechargeables?

I have a Streamlight Stinger and Surefire 6R. The Stinger burns longer and brighter and I like the focusable beam and on/off switch better. But the 6R is much more convenient battery wise, as you can have a charged spare and even convert it to the use of two 3V 123A batteries. The Stinger only charges with the unit in the charger, so is only good for the 80 minute burn time before it has to be retired for charging. For that reason I keep the Stinger at home and the 6R at work.

I find it awkward too, to an extent, It's not as "natural" as a tubular style light.
