Did a quick search and couldn't find any other recipe threads that were reasonably recent...
Wana share their favorite recipes? Make any requests for some tried and true recipes? I know I'd love for some new stuff to cook! Authentic Mexican food would be awesome, I'm always wasting my money going to get Mexican food...
I was going to post my GF's grandmothers corn chowder recipe (it's fantastic!) but I thought the better of it and wont until I can check with her
So I'll start with a quick and simple Jambalaya recipe I posted a few weeks ago in a different thread and if this thread takes off, I'll post some more recipes that I enjoy:
1/2 Chopped onion (half a bunch of spring onion is better...)
1/2 Chopped green pepper
Couple stalks of Chopped celery
Some meat (Ham, chicken, sausage, fish, etc.)
Couple cloves of minced garlic
Fry for a bit (I like to fry it in a spoonful of bacon fat or butter...)
Add a cup of stock, a teaspoon (or more) of hot sauce, a teaspoon of "cajun seasoning" (red pepper, cayenne, thyme, oregano, etc). Salt, pepper.
Add 1/2 cup of rice when simmering. Cover and simmer for 15 mins, turn off heat, stir, cover for 15 mins, eat.
