Here's another Bowie with nineteenth century roots. The original that I based this one on (George Woodhead) had an etched blade where I gave this one a hamon instead but the hilt is definitely early nineteenth century. The blade is W2 and the handle is MOP w/ N/S fittings. The sheath is a traditional leather over wood with N/S throat & tip.

Gary, you have definitely found a niche with these historically inspired pieces you've been doing. Beautiful work!!!

I enjoy your re-creations Gary. This one is beautifully done with the MOP handle scales. I bet the photo doesnt do it justice.
