Hey,

Just wondering if anyone on here has recoated their Beckers with Duracoat, etc. to make a green/tan Becker or refinish a new black one gray so it looks like an old Blackjack. Pics please!

Here is an interesting old thread with some good pictures and information about duracoating Beckers. A very talented Beckerhead named K-9 Handler used to offer this service here but I have not seen him around in a while. Nice pics in the thread though.

Very nice! Thank you so much, that's exactly what I was looking for. Duracoat seems to be the best (affordable) coating, so I'll probably use that.

I have some experience with Duracoat on guns and now knives.
The most important thing while applying it, is to do your prep work very carefully and make sure you rough up the surface no finer than 320 grit. Bead blasting or sand blasting would be best. I use denatured alcohol to degrease before the Duracoat is applied, no need to buy their expensive degreasing agent.
I just did my BK9 in matte black but no pics yet.

here are some tweener scales in an olive/brown mix over truck bed liner for grip. It has warn very well (no wear at all).

Very nice scales! Those are some great tips and I'll be sure to take them into account. Do you think the duracoat is better than other standard coatings from Becker, Ontario, Esee, etc?
