Recognise this Bull brand

I think on the back side of that main blade it says j lauderdale. I’ve had those knives they are not bad. Some were made with celluloid handles and were bad to gas. I’ve been told they were made by Frank Buster, dont know if that’s true or not. That’s all I know about them.

Backside is solingen germany on this,I have not seen this bull brand tang on any of my researching, and it's been more than a few hours worth.thanks for looking bull.

Yes Sir you are welcome. If my memory is right, I believe those were made in the 1980s. I’ve seen them in stag, different color plastics, and different color celluloid. All I ever saw were 3 blade Stockman patterns. Had a red handled one I carried for awhile. Carbon steel sharpened good, was a decent knife. Traded it for something else long ago.

i found a knife exactly like that one while on a volksmarch in Germany in the early 80s

It was from that era,but mine is not stamped lauderdale on back, but same tang same blade script, so maybe not frost ,unless frost owned bull brand from beginning.found a big chip out of the sheepsfoot blade.the sheepsfoot was hitting the pen blade and chipping, seller hid that from me.

Well it was made in the friedrich olbertz plant in the 70' or early 80's,there is in exact stag stockman identical to this one.the solingen then squiggle mark then geramany.but who owned bull brand at the time is clouded in mystery and intrigue, but with all things frost(if he owned it then) nothing is straightforward.

The bull image on the tang stamp of your knife is very cool!:cool:

There are knives currently available called "German Bull" or "German Bull Brand", but they have an image of a bull's head and shoulder/leg, not the entire animal, on the tang stamp, and include the word "German" on the tang stamp. For example,

I don't have any idea whether these German Bull knives are related to earlier Bull Brand knives like yours. The German Bull Brand is part of Frost Cutlery, and there seems to be disagreement about where the German Bull knives are made - Germany, Pakistan, China???

Just to really confuse things, here's a knife I found with "Bull Brand" and "Solingen ~ Germany" tang stamps just like yours, but the seller seems to claim that it came in a "German Bull" box, which seems quite unlikely to me unless the Bull Brand company changed its name to German Bull and sold an "old" knife in a "new" box. o_O

And, as a previous poster mentioned, some of the Bull Brand knives apparently have a J. Lauderdale stamp as well. You can see several examples if you do a Google search for "bull brand pocket knives lauderdale".

That is the one I bought lol.it is a part knife if you ask me,and the handles are not stag.also the sheepsfoot had a gouge out of it from hitting the pen blade.also bought a case 70's stockman were the sheepsfoot wouldn't close,it would catch on the pen blade.its hard getting knives in canada.im laying off dealers,I'm going to stick to the forum exchange,I get lucky and people offer to ship to canada

Here's the thing though,it's on me.i had researched Bull brand until my eyes popped out, even asked waynorth and he seemed to suggest stay away, but in all that research I came upon many more positive reviews about bulldog. My mind was set on a stag bulldog and was prepared to purchase it,but along the way I pressed Bull brand.it is really muddy waters when parker cold is involved.but lessons are learned and I'm not in the poor house( yet)

If that German Bull brand of today is the same, well the current German bull brand is either Frost or Parker owned.
They are commonly sold on the Cutlery corner TV show.
Being made in Germany I suspect Parker because I know he had a lot of knives made by Olbertz back in the day.
