Just got my full size Extrema Ratio Fulcrum. I like it over all except, the knife is not as big as i thought by looking at the advertising picture. it is quite skinny that is the most dissapointment for me.

Any one knows any blade that has width that is 2", 2.5" or 3". 7inch long and with good blade?

i saw some cold steel, i think they might be too skinny as well. Hard to tell width by looking at images. Need collecoters' opinion.

Thanks

I guess its bigger than 7 inches, but its wide.

Yup, Busses all the way!
As for the Bowie above, it's been reported be extremely heavy. I wouldn't recommend it.

its not the first time i heard good things about busse in fixed world. Where is good place to buy it? or to look into? cuz somehow i can't find a good busse's retail site.

cuz on www.bussecombat.com

i only see american kennsei and skeleton key are selling. no other models

The satin jacks are a bit less than 2 inches wide. I think the Fusion Steel Heart, SF Natural Outlaw, and Ratweiler are pretty close though. My E-handle Natural outlaw is about 1.7 inches wide. The newer one is much wider (just going from pictures.)

I wouldn't really call these fighters, they're a bit heavy, and I usually think of a fighter as a light, very nimble blade. Maybe you should try for one of those Cherokee Rose bowies that Himilayan Imports puts out from time to time. I don't think those are particularly "feathery" in hand either, but they fit my mental picture of "fighting bowie".

What Esav said. That, along with the excessive spine thickness, is the main reason why I wouldn't call (regular) Busses fighting knives, I should have made that clear in my post.

wuyeah,
the CS Black Bear Classic is probably the best large fighter in its price range. It doesn't have a wide blade though.

Are you looking for a display piece that doesn't actually have to perform as a fighter should?

I am looking for wide knife intead of fix the marketing turm on it.

A blade that is mean looking, enemy begging, wide knife. Sort of like thouse big knife movie hero will carry.

not totally for a disply, but with lower quality of steel, any knife will decrease its value over time. Which i don't want that too.

If you neither know nor care about the characteristics of a fighter, why do you ask for a fighter?

I'm sure United Cutlery has some "mean-looking" knives.

As somebody mentioned above, Laci Szabo offers high-quality stuff, quite a few of his knives are wide. Other than that, take a look at the Böker Smatchet or get a Busse, Fehrman or Swamp Rat.

Ya want a 7" blade, that's up to 3" wide? I.E., its width is 42% of its length?
Sounds like it would end up looking more like this-

I agree with the Busse comments- but if you're short on ducats I'd recommend a Becker or a Kabar Warthog...

The Satin Jack TAC is 3/16” thick, and is reasonably quick in hand.

The SFNO is .22” thick, and is not quite as quick.

I’d rather either of these than a thin/light fighter that is no good for camp/utility duties.
