I am interested in picking up a GEC offering, likely one of the Northfield numbers, but am not a fan of halfstops in a slipjoint. Can you folks recommend a model that has no halfstops? Type is not that much of an issue, but I'd prefer it to be between 3 1/2" and 4 1/4" closed for comfortable pocket carry. Your assistance is appreciated.

Which GEC models do and don't have have stops seems to be based on the pattern and whether or not the pattern would traditionally have or not have half stops. This is the list I've been able to gather so far from my collections as well as with the help of others on the forum. I believe all of the models I have listed without half stops fit your size criteria.

Half stops:
#23 Pioneer
#25 Ez-Open, Jack
#48 Trapper, Single Bladed Trapper
#54 Harness Jack, Cigar Whittler, Big Jack
#61 Congress, Half Congress
#73 Scout, Jack

No half stops:
#12 Toothpick
#36 Sunfish
#53 Cuban Stockman, Muskrat, Furtaker Trapper
#56 Dogleg Jack
#66 Serpentine Jack
#72 Lockback

Mixed:
#89 Executive Whittler has Half Stop on main blade but not on secondary blades.

If anyone has any patterns that are missing from this list, please feel free to update.

Addressing your original post...

Check out the Canoe and White Owl.
I have a White Owl which is a single spring, two blade knife (spear & pen). It's 3 1/2" closed and has a flat profile, perfect for pocket carry.
I don't have a Canoe so I can't comment on it but from the pics I've seen, it seems very similar to the White Owl.

GEC makes a Northfield White Owl.

Tidioute White Owl in Ebony....

Any of the #66 models would be a good choice - no half stops and enough length (3.5") and width to get a good grip. I'm partial to the NF Calf Roper myself - those three blades (clip, sheeps foot, and spey) come in handy and the long pull on the clip puts it over the top for me. The #66 Moose is also a good choice for an EDC - with a clip and spear.

Another vote for the 66. This is my Serpentine Jack :)
