Recommend a good minimal sheath

I've been gravitating towards my traditional knives lately, both Northwoods knives, a Madison Barlow (Osage Orange) and an Indian River Jack (Pioneer Bone). I also conceal carry a full size M&P9 on my right hip which puts my right pocket out of commission. That means I have to carry my knife in the same pocket as my keys on the left side. Rather than scratch my knife all up I need a small thin sheath to put it in. KSF included some great quality sheaths with the knives but they're much to large. I'm looking for something like in the link below but I am having no luck.

That looks simular to what came with my Opinel #8.
Worst case, a pair or two of goat/sheep skin leather gardening gloves would provide enough leather to make your own.

As an alternaitive, have you considered a SOB (small of back) or shoulder holster?
I used to carry a full size Colt 1911 and a Tokerov 9mm in a SOB and shoulder holster. My .380 was in the fanny pack. Yes, all three at once. The convenience store was in a bad neighborhood. Kept a Mossberg 500 fed alternating 0000 buck and slugs behind the counter, and the cash register was bolted to the counter.

I was looking for something similar too, real simple, something other than leather. After much searching well, I learned how to use the sewing machine :D. Nothing fancy but it gets the job done. Made from some "vintage" navy duffle bag cotton canvas I cut up and some poly thread. Can make whatever you like with a little practice and time.

Thanks for the suggestion, I'll look into it. It would at least give me practice in leather work.

I'm not a fan SOB holsters, too big a chance of injury should I the ground. I used to carry IWB but got tired of having either pants too big if I don't carry then too tight when I do. Shoulder holsters are great but it's way too hot in Texas for a cover garment.

There are a bunch of great options from CollectorKnives found here. I highly recommend the European Goat Skin pocket slip. It is minimal and the perfect size for almost every pattern.

I've got some leather in the basement for a book making idea and I'm thinking I may have to try out making myself a little slip sheath.

I second the ColectorKnives recommendation. While I haven't tried the goat skin sheath, I do own several of the CK Tuscan leather pocket slips and they are very nice!

I have a leather workshop nearby. They make tool belts for mining and heavy duty stuff .
Ive taken a couple of knives to them and had one off sheaths made. Not expensive either.

Agree

Case makes some inexpensive black suede sheaths in a variety of sizes that I use. They have a velcro closure which could be good or bad. Another step to get the knife but covers the top bolster and keeps coins and such out of the slip.

This is absolutely perfect! Much appreciated.
