I've been wanting to get back to yo-yos for a while now, and am thinking about buying something new.

Over the past few years, I've gone through the entire Duncan and Yomega lines, and a few miscellaneous yo-yos. As of present, I only own a Yomega Stealth Raider (Saber Raider in a "butterfly" configuraion, I believe, but I'm not sure what it's called in the States), which is decent.

Don't quite know what I want. I do a lot of string stricks, so it'd be nice to get something in a "butterfly" configuration.

Also, does anyone know where I can buy the old Yomega "Hyper Millenium" (Japanese name for it; it was designed like the old Duncan Pro, but was heavier with more weight around the rims)? I haven't seen one in years, but it was one of the most fun, along with being very carriable as it was very thin.

There was a post not to long ago along these same lines. I suggest you do a search and dig that one up. Also read around at the Yo-Yo Web News , They know everything there is to know about Yo-Yoing. I second the recomendation for the Freehand! It is one awesome Yo-Yo. If your looking for something a little more nicer and expensive look at the Dif-e-yo, now theres a Yo-Yo! I love mine! Hope this helps!

Here you go. Thanks to all who replied.

Does anyone have info on the new Yomega Xodus or the new Duncan that was said to be better than the Freehand? It was the Duncan...Monkey something or other. Thanks.

The Xodus is an oversized heavy yo-yo with rubber rims on it. Plays pretty nice but I'm not a huge fan of the feel due to the size. I really dig it for offstring but I doubt you're looking for that.

The Duncan Throwmonkey is basically a new style freehand with rubber rims on it giving it a similar profile to the old freehand. It is due out at the end of July or the beginning of August.

Tom Khun SB-2s! They are the most electrifying yos any yo-nuts have ever seen! Also ~ check out the Playmaxx ProYo Cold Fusion! Too AWESOME! :D

When I had the time to devote to the hobby, I really enjoyed using the spintastics line up:

I had a Yomega WingForce, and a Metallic missle... neither of them compared to my 10 dollar Tornado!

Looks to be 13 bucks now, I had the original... If i remember correctly the second version just has more weight around the outer shell. It was fine for loops... and the gap was perfect for landing some string tricks too!

I've tried the SB2, but those things STING your hand if ya mess up... and break stuff if ya lose the string.

I also enjoyed using tom kuhns wooden something or other, it didnt go as long as the ball bearing tornado, but thats to be expected.

Note:
Lube for ball bearings... go to radio shack an grab a tube of teflon, 2 bucks and it'll last forever.

Good luck with what ever you purchase
