So after doing a bit of research, which mora has a full tang, or damn near a full tang?

Also since a lot of the recommendations on which mora are handle related, if I am going to be redoing the handle, which blade do you guys recommend for bushcraft?

Thank you for any help

Go see Ragnar at ragweedforge.com. He has Mora blanks (no handles). Try the carbon #1 blade, get two. It's a winning design.

I do prefer carbon. But stainless can be necessary if you're around water a lot or near the ocean. Incidentally if you need a truly full length tang, I think the karesuando blades have long tangs.

Ragnar will also have stuff like fittings, bolsters, and wood.

I'll second that! Also check out the other brands that he carries blanks of, some brands have more of a full tang than the moras.

I'm a fan of carbon, even for around water. I think carbon and water are a little over hyped. I use carbon exclusively even when fishing, fresh and salt. Just don't leave it in a puddle for a week and you'll be fine.

An even better idea is to get one carbon and one SS, there cheap enough, then decide for yourself which one you like best.

Definitely hit up Ragnar. At his prices and shipping rates, you can afford to get a few to practice on.

Preach on. I live in swamp/coastal salt marsh and have no issues with my carbon tools as long as I give them a little tlc. Regular use keeps most rust away. If it's something I don't use often, I'll oil it up and put it away. People in every environment on earth used carbon steel for hundreds of years before we ever came up with stainless. If it was that big a deal, we'd have invented it sooner I imagine. Sorry for the little tangent, but that's always a tangent starter for me. Now on to the OP's question. I'll second or third or whatever Ragnar. Good prices, prompt shipping, and very good about answering any questions you might have about his stuff.

I really like the Helle Tollekniv blade blank myself. I'm planning on getting one or two to play with. Anything from Ragweed will be great though. You can't beat the Swedish and Finnish blades for the money. You just can't do it!

After trying expensive knives the one I go to more often than any is my carbon clipper. I love that knife. I put a forced vinegar patina on it when I first got it and I really do think it helps with rust. That and wiping it off when I'm done using her. I might buy 2 more just cause I can. They're cheap enough.
I might be a tad off topic but don't shy away from carbon steel, they hold an edge longer!

I wonder if they make a blank for the bigger blade that's got a regular scandi grind? Like the Bushcraft Force, I think it is?
