Recommend a neck knife at Blade

ESEE Izula - Definitely a great bang for the buck. 1095 easy to sharpen blade with an unbeatable warranty
In comparison to a Spyderco Mule:

If you can find a Swamp Warden, that's my favorite necker so far. Otherwise, the Izula and the Bark river bravo necker are both great also.

if its there be the first to get the ESEE IZULA, otherwise just get an IZULA, its flat out the best neck knife

What?

An Izula is an Izula is an Izula.

You should get several :D.

I need more to keep these two company.

I think he means get one labeled ESEE and not RAT Cutlery. I think I would actually rather have the RAT version.

I was there today and saw a lot of neat stuff including a lot of the Spyderco prototypes including a picture of the Spyderco/ Lionsteel SR-1 prototype. I still have a ton to see.

As far as the necker I don't remember the company or model but there is one that got a best of show award and is in the center display case for the award winners. It was $85 and pretty nice and I might end up getting one myself. If you go to the display case you should be able to find it pretty easy.

I don't know how Busse normal does shows but there was a rumor that they were going to make a big announcement tomorrow. Who knows what it will be but a folder would be pretty cool.

theres no difference between the one with the new logo, or old, or even the one in the picture you put up. The one in the picture is the special run ESEE did for knivesshipfree.com

These are the three that I own and what I think of them....

-Bark River Bravo, -Rat (ESEE) Izula, and Becker Necker BK-11

The Becker is the largest and the least expensive, kinda on the big side for neck carry, but you can get the optional TDI belt clip that is great for clipping the knife anywere you want. The nifty bottle opener is usefull, but the handle feels a little small in my hand.

The Bark River is the most expensive of the three, but is by far the nicest especially if you get the optional handle scales. Some of the better features of this are: stainless, fully convexed blade, cutting surface is pollished not coated, handles are quite nice, sheath also holds a firesteel.

The Izula is in between, nicer than the becker, costs less than the Bravo. It is also probably the most comfy without any form of wrap or handle added to it. I didn't like the thick rough coating on the blade of mine so I sanded it smooth.

I think the Becker is the best bang for buck, the Izula is great and as you can see quite popular, but if you can afford to spend a few extra bucks I think the Bark River is the best IMHO. :)

geez. you guys are killing me. post pics of the new releases from blade! then we'll be able to tell you what to get :D

Something by Tom Krein in M4 steel if you can find any. All that other stuff is nice like the Izula,Barkie Etc but you're at blade. You can order that other stuff anytime but now is your oppurtunity to get a really nice custom.

first off

secondly BLADE is one of/if not, the largest knife show in the country, many new models are released

http://www.bladeshow.com

as for neck knives, i really like the izula

make that a double  but bryfry's got a ton of knives already it seems.

recontech - i really like the izula. i have the becker bk11/becker necker too but i don't like the bottle opener at the end of it.

Just about any blade configuration will do, but I prefer a double-edged design. Most neck blades are too short to do a lot of poking, so for last ditch self defense, being able to cut and slash is the strength of such knives.

One writer talked about how embarrasing it was for his opponent to have a knife that was so dull that it wouldn't even cut something he slashed.

A neck knife has to be very sharp and two sides are better than one. The steel also must be wickedly sharp, and often this means medium-to-medium high grade steels may be a little better in strength and sharpness than high grade. (They're also cheaper.)

I'm anxious to see some of the new 'neck knife' releases as well. Though are many very competent options available, i'd be interested to see a new contender - gotta say i'll never buy a Barkie though. Ever. There's more to a product than simply the merchandise.

I recently bought an ultra-inexpensive Buck Paklite Skinner (~$15) simply to try something updated/improved over my CRKT "Ed Halligan" KISS knife.

I love neck knives I EDC and Izula. I also own a Swamp Warden and a Becker Necker but as far as bang for the buck I really enjoyed carrying these two from AG Russell. The Hunters Scalpel and the Woods Walker they offer plenty of value and utility plus the Hunter Scalpel comes with a thumb bolt sheath that is as safe as they come.

These two have been around for a long time but are two excellent Neck knife options that I have carried for a while.
