I'd love a watch pocket-sized Vic SAK. One larger than a Classic, but smaller than a Huntsman, and with a scissors. Let the suggestions begin!

The Executive is a great knife. It's 74mm and has scissors, blades and a variety of other useful tools in 2 layers.

If the scissors are of high importance to you then I agree with FelineVet. I prefer the Vic scissors to the Wenger ones, so you probably would not want to consider Wenger offerings.

I EDC'd a Vic Executive for decades before I began taking a collector interest in SAKs. It was a perfect combination of small size and a useful selection of tools for my needs during that time. Now I EDC other SAKs because of my collector interests but I still really, really like the Executive.

And, if you decide to buy ANY new or used SAKs, FelineVet is the go-to guy!

Email him at fveap@earthlink.net and tell him what you want and you'll find that he is friendly, his prices are great and his service is terrific. On top of all that, all his profits go to a charitable foundation that provides free vet service for cats whose owners cannot afford to pay. Help the kitties! :D

Mine's a toss-up between the Executive and a Compact. Since I wear scrubs to work, I only have the shirt pocket and a butt pocket- those two SAK's I alternate.

And yet another vote for Felinevet's sugestion.

And I'd but it from him too. It's for a good cause.

I have an Executive its a nice knife but for me the only choice for a "thinner than Huntsman SAK with scissors" would be the Vic Compact! Two layers with almost all the functions of the Huntsman.
If i t wasn't for the fact that i like to have a saw the Compact would be all the SAK i really need. As it is i usually carry a Compact and a OH Trekker or Farmer or Alox Lumberjack.

My trusty Huntsman was my first SAK that I got about 25 years ago, and have carried for most of that time. As a result, I tend to compare all other SAKs to it. For example, I got an Outrider awhile back because it was like a big Huntsman. Now I guess I want a mini Huntsman-ish SAK for work when I'm not edcing a multitool (Spirit) but want more versatility than a traditional slipjoint (Case peanut).

I'm considering the Executive, Mini Champ, Compact and Rambler right now.

Foilist, the Executive was my first 74mm SAK and it's a really great compromise between the 58mm and the larger SAKs. As a secondary, I think the Exec is great, and for a "white collar" EDC, it could do as a primary carry knife. One note - Exec prices vary wildly so shop around. They can be had for <$25 NIB is you look hard.

Still, if you want more versatility than a slipjoint, I agree that the Compact is a nice full-size Vic that covers all the major urban needs (no woodsaw, though). If you can do without scissors, tweezers, and toothpick, thealox Cadet (84mm) is a slim two layers yet has all the 'classic' SAK tools on board. You can choose between the Cadet (large blade, can opener/small screwdriver, flathead screwdriver/cap lifter, and nail file/medium Philips screwdriver) and the Cadet II, with a small blade in place of the nail file/Philips.

Its too bad Vic doesn't do 84mms with scissors anymore.
I'd love to have a 84mm Compact or Hunstman.
I love 84mm Vics, they almost disappear in my hand. Not too big not too small.
I love 84mm and the 111mm frames the best but usually carry the 91mms because they have the widest model and tool range.

I just surfed around a bit and I'm liking the Mini Champ II. It is small but has useful implements.

I always go for the recruit-ish types. They fit in that little right pocket of your jeans, Or are light enough for another pocket without getting lost.

I also prefer the Vic SAK Compact for a EDC. Frankly I use the sissors, tooth pick and tweezers more than anything. The big blade is also handy. I recently bought a Farmer, Hiker, Field Master and OH Trekker which all have saws and it was a good excuse to buy more SAKs. My next purchase is going to be a Mini-Champ. You can never have too many SAKs.:D
