Wow after only a few days on these forums I have narrowed it down to one company that I want to purchase an EDC knife from. Here are my requirements.
$150 and under that includes ebay.
Atleast a 3 inch blade pref. 3.5 good style, durability, sharpness. I think I want s30v steel since it is considered very good from what I have read (may be others that are better not sure) Basically what im saying is - what is the absolute number one Benchmade you would buy in that price range to bring along with you everday - I am in LEO. I am not interested in Spyderco or any other brand at this time so please Benchmades only :)
I appreciate the help in advance.

RSK Ritter Griptilian

Hard to go wrong with the Griptillian.

Available in tanto and spyderhole versions too.
They're about 60 bucks. You can get a Rittergrip for something like 110, I think, in S30V. I think some of that money goes to charity..that said, I think the price on the Ritter is a little too high...after the century mark, we should move past FRN, in my humble opinion. But you might love it.

The Mini skirmish (635) is one of my favorite Benchmades. It doesn't have the axis lock, but hey, I like framelocks too.. Titanium handles, S30V blade. And it's just beautiful, all around. About 130 bucks. The size is just right too. Large blade, but it's stuffed in a surprisingly compact handle.

The NRA GAUCHO is a Benchmade that really piqued my interest recently. It's got a 3.4 inch 154CM blade and aluminum handle. Axis lock. It's a pretty slim knife..just feels right in my hand.

If you like AOs, the Apparition is very pretty.

If you like Wharncliffes, check out the Gravitator and Switchback too.

I'll add one, if you're into tanto style blades. The 910 Stryker. Available in a few different steels, takes abuse, good solid knife...wonder why BM is still making it after so many years?

Have fun and enjoy your EDC... let us know what you get?

I will deffinately let you know. So many choices its really hard to come to a decision. But I am sure whatever it is that i choose I will like. Has anyone used or seen the 520? It was chosen as one of the NRA's best in class. Just kinda curious about it.

Sorry to add more options but the yes, the 520 is very suitable for LEO work. Blade is 154CM, has an axis lock and aggressive aluminum grip.

The 525 is another very sweet mopdel , a smaller more portable , but not watered down 500 .

I would recommend one of the 94X series of knives. They now come with S30v blades now.

Another vote for the 940, I just got one and love it .

Depending on use, I carry anyone of various knives.

But, when I'm just grabbing one for general all around use, I pick up a BM710.

To date, it has proven to be the best EDC I've come accross.

I have them in 154CM and M2, and one of them in the BlackWater variation (parial serrations only available).

Size is comfortable for EDC (not too big, not too small), great blade shape, axis lock (left or right hand operation), etc.

Of late, when I must carry a shorty blade, I have a Ritter mini-Grip that has impressed me. I prefer the mini-Grip over the full-size. The full size is nice, but I'll take the 710 over it for numerous reasons.

The Ritter Grips, 940, and 730 are a few of the good ones that I like. The 710 is also a good one. I think any of the ones listed would do the job. THANKS! Kevin

Griptillian, Skirmish or mini0skirmish in order of price on E-Bay. All under $150. Get plain ,combo or black blade as suits your fancy.

Get a Griptilian and a trainer model. That way, you can practice drills that may be applicable to your LEO duties. You can get both a live blade and a trainer within your price range.

Another vote for Griptilian. Sit down for an hour, and just feel how well one of these is designed. I've EDCed one (a mini-grip) for a year, and it has never let me down!

Could be appreciation of other models.

Or, a bunch of people just haven't experienced 710 freshness.
