Recently I have sold off a bunch of knives that I dont really use. I am trying to keep knives for specific purposes. Here is my list.
Mark Wohlwend PSK-EDC fixed blade with pocket sheath
Custom Kephart for bushcraft along with Moras.
Custom necker from Stomper waiting to be made
Esee for trail knife
Spyderco Paramilitary, Fallkniven U2, and Kabar Dozier for folders.
A few slippies

I am getting a Spyderco TiMillie on trade and wont use it as I dont like metal scales so Im gonna trade it. What should I get for A fun knife? Im thinking a Fallkniven PXL, Enzo folder, or a Bernie Garland Bushcraft folder or Ray Lanconico folder. Anyone have these or should I look at something else?

Hi Bowdenknxvll@comcast,

Could you give us a bit of info about what W&SS-type tasks you intend to tackle with this folder? Off the top of my head, I would recommend a SAK or a Leatherman Wave, as they would compliment your existing collection (which sounds pretty neat, by the way).

All the best,

- Mike

For folders I really like Case and Kershaw. I have several models from both companies, and no complaints.

you can do a lot worse than a ESEE, RAT-1 folder by Ontario.

Even Jeff Randall carries one.

My favorites are Benchmade 710D2, Spyderco Endura,Spyderco Delica. I would tell you to consider the Junkyard dog II with composite blade, but the clip totally ruins that knife. Have you looked at Queen Cutlery? Traditional style with D2 blades.

I have always wanted a custom Barlow or friction folder. Maybe one of Stompers.

The Buck 110 is a classic - even in it's basic form, a la Wally World. You can order a custom made one with nickel silver bolsters, walnut scales, and S30V blade - ~$85 from Buck's Custom Shop (Go to their site.). It takes from 2-6 weeks. Over the counter, Cabela's has an Al-Ti-N (black) coated S30V bladed 110 in their 'Alaskan Guide' line, while Bass Pro has the CPM154 bladed version made for them - all about the same price. Of course, the 420HC bladed basic 110, ~$27 at Wally World, etc, is no slouch.

The flipper deployed Buck 347 is a keeper - despite the liner lock. The same size S30V blade as the Ti framelock 172 Mayo TNT, it's a bargain still at it's recently increased price - about the same as the upgrade 110's above. Contoured scales make it a comfortable knife to use. All of these Bucks are made in ID.

Changing stripes - I think Kershawguy in 'For Sale - dealer/production' still has some blemished Kershaw 1725SG2 JYDII in SG2 and Ti - again, about the same price as the others mentioned. That's a super knife - the expensive production run ran out a year or two ago. Of course, others have mentioned an excellent EDC - the Benchmade 710 in D2 - keeper, if a tad more than the others! For a few more denaros, there is the 755 MPR - a stocky keeper!!

I gottta agree with a custom shop 110.
The 110 will never be surpassed as the greatest folder ever.
A 45/70 Marlin and a Buck 110 and you can conquer the world.......:D
