Good morning :)

I have a B.S. in Economics and recently earned an MBA. Although I did well in my MBA classes, I always felt that other students knew more when in came to current events (general, tech, business). So I want to be on top of those as well for my own personal knowledge as well as to be able to converse with others on these topics.

So I am looking for the following in a website:
-Has to be free or inexpensive (ex $10-15 a year)
-Includes general national and world news (preferably unbiased if at all possible)
-Includes business news that preferably is a step up from USA Today
-Well written and interesting

Thanks

It is not possible, if by unbiased you mean non-partisan. The purpose of any newspaper is to organize a mass political party. The most one can hope for is honesty and a decent respect to the opinions of mankind.

That is within the realm of the possible. There are tens of millions of men, women, and children writing better journalism than USA Today.

My favorites in North America are the Los Angeles Times and Toronto's The Globe & Mail. I liked Businessweek before it was bought by Bloomberg in 2009. Forbes is good for lists and rankings, e.g. the 400 richest Americans. The Nation and http://www.tomdispatch.com/ are favorite news magazines.

In the UK, The Guardian and The Independent. Financial Times is heartless and reactionary but intelligently written.

Le Monde diplomatique has an English language edition and Der Spiegel publishes some of its content in English here: http://www.spiegel.de/international/

Some of these are free and some want money for more than limited access. The biggest of the freebies is probably The Guardian.
