I am looking for a knife that fits the hand well, feels solid, and has a steel with good edge holding ability without being a major pain to sharpen (I never let me knives get dull to where they cant slice paper)
I am willing to spend up to $120 for the knife and would prefer it to be a Spyderco because I love how functional their knives are.
I would prefer the knife to weigh 0-3.6 ounces, have functional jimping, have a blade length of less then 3.5 inches, be fairly rust resistant, and feel solid in the hand.
my hands are in between medium and large (glove sizes)
I have been thinking about the Spyderco Delica 4, Spyderco Caly 3, Spyderco Salt 1, and Spyderco Paramilitary

As stated I prefer Spyderco brand knives, but I am open to any useful suggestions

All the ones you mentioned is what I was gonna suggest. I'll rank them order for me, since you have M to L hands the Para might suit you better. Oh yeah, how about a FRN stretch?
1)Caly 3 ZDP or G10
2)Para
3)salt 1 & D4, same handle- VG10 might be easier to sharpen than H1

Spyderco Caly 3, preferably the CF, ZDP-189, considering your budget.
Get a couple of DMT stones and practice. If you can get they hang of it then it will be the best small knife you'll ever need.
If you want to take a shortcut, just buy one and send it to Tom Krein, right off the bat.

Ghost,

I hate to appear slow but can only learn if I ask. What is jimping?

Lashing Grommets/Jimping - These terms refer to notches that are designed into the back lower part of the blade for better thumb control.

It's on your website in the Tenacious write-up as well.

Another blade that hasn't been mentioned that I found to be a good over all blade is the Spyderco Native with the plain edge (much easier to sharpen then combo edge). Another knife I might recommend to you would be a Cold Steel Voyager Medium Clip or Tanto point with a plain edge.

The Spyderco Native

Steel: S30V (One of my favorites strong and holds an edge well)
Weighs 2.65 ounces
Blade Style: Modified Spear Point (Personal guess not sure the actual style)
Blade Length: 3 1/8 inches
Price: 99.95 (Spyderco direct, look around you can get a better deal)

Cold Steel Medium Voyager

Steel: VG-1 Stainless (A little less strong then S30V but still great steel)
Weighs 1.8 ounces
Blade Style: Clip Point or Tanto (Not sure if you want it to double for SD)
Blade Length: 3 inches
Price: 79.99-84.99 (Cold Steel direct, look around you can get a better deal)

If you have any questions about these knives let me know I will see if I can answer them.

I have seen some impresive demonstrations on utube regarding s30v steel -go with the para military.

"blunttruth4u" reviewed a fallkniven folding knife with a steel called supergold powder coat or something -and he put it up against a SOG twitch and a spyderco paramilitary. The spyderco won for sure.

I'd say the Para-Military is a great balance between a medium/large handle with a great S30V (or D2) blade steel.

Remember, choose what YOU like, take care, J.

Edit: Ever looked at a 552 Ritter Grip?
