Recommend me a small, cheap fixed blade.

So, I’m putting together a small hiking/biking/get home bag (like I really need yet another bag of gear… ). It’ll be a small sling bag of some sort, and have all the basic essentials - small multi tool, first aid kit, firestaters, etc…. And of course, a small fixed blade of some sort. But, I’m also on a budget.

Want something in the 2.5-3.25” range. Small, lightweight, kydex sheath to attach via molle, and preferably under $60-65. Something that, on a budget, will compare well to a Bradford Guardian 3 or Benchmade Hidden Canyon (these live on my primary bags at the moment) Primary function will be general, lightweight, outdoorsy knife stuff.

I’d consider an ESEE or Izulla, but even without scales, it puts me over my current price point - and $65 is a hard stop limit.

Ones I’m currently looking at:
Ruike 815 (14C28N)
Kizer Hare in (Nitro V)
Kizer Beaver in (Nitro V)
Civili Tmberbark (14C28N)

Anyone have any experience with any of these? Have a strong recommendation for or against any of these? Or even suggest an alternative that I should check out?

I believe the new Spyderco Mule Team project knife will be coming out soon and has MagnaMax steel. Now the bad part, still a touch over your budget at $75 I believe.

A few I like personally:
- Cold Steel mini leatherneck
- Morakniv Eldris
- ESEE Izula 2
- Maybe the Becker EsKabar BK14

If you can find the Izula for a good price, it’s a great lifetime knife.

Edit: I like the Ruike and Civivi knives too. Good experience with them. Real Steel too.

Two Sun has some nice stuff in different flavors. Check their site for what’s available. Vosteed also has lower priced stuff in some quality steels and they well built.

I love my Ruike 815. If you want a wharnie in 14c28n check out the Brisa Wharncliffe 75. Not sure if there is a kydex sheath for it, but you can make your own kydex gear, not a big deal.
