What can anybody recommend in a 3-3.5" (cutting edge) Wharncliffe Fixed Blade? I don't see too many around, or maybe I'm looking in the wrong place...:) ?

You could try the EBK II , but the blade length is a bit shorter than you asked for.

Dale.

Look up Gene Ingram. He is in the knifemakers section.Has a utility that is way cool.

Trace Rinaldi makes a sweet little knife like that called the Matrix. I gotta get me one of those.

W.D. Pease makes the nicest ones I've owned. The blade is 2 3/4" long, there is a stag one for sale here:

You might also try Muller Forge, I've had several of theirs and they are beautiful as well as usable, in Damascus. A pic is here:

I just picked up a small Strider WP Wharnclliffe. I didn't measure the blade and the knife is packed but it's within your specs. These are really heavy duty and sell for about $175.00, though there are some better deals around. E-mail me if you want.

Diamdave,
I reckon wharncliffs are great!
Here's some more makers.

Checkout the Raptor pro custom posted by Jason Cutter. I had it made to my specs & it's a great knife.

Gene Ingram I would agree is a great choice you can find his site at blademakers.com. I have 2 different models of his knives.

Craig Camerer does a 3 inch model. I have 1 of his neck knives.

Here's a couple more I found when researching wharncliff blades that I haven't tried.

Phil Tham has a 3 1/4 model.

Sean O'hare has the ecko becko with 3.75 blade & gives choice of steels from 01 through to S30V.

Hope this helps.

Mitch

This probably won't help you much, but I want to post this anyway. :D
I own a one-of-a-kind wharncliffe piece made by Martin Baytchev (unfortunately he doesn't have a homepage): very nice small knife, blued O-1 blade, blue/gray Micarta handle, very practical.

WOW! Some great replies from everyone. Thanks, and keep 'em coming if you can. diamdave

How about J. Neilson......He makes this one...

Bill

Oh wait.....that's my avatar. :D
But what a great knife and system of carry.

You have got to look at Don Cowles' knives at cowlesknives.com. He specializes in small fixed blade knifes. He truly sells a fixed blade pocket knife.

check with lifter...he's done a few if I recall.

If you can find a Mike Irie you've got a good one.

Not exactly wharnies but ... check the fixed blade section on Jens Anso's website http://www.ansoknives.com/
The "Sheepsfoot" is a bit smaller than what you ask for, but the Tukan is about that size. I have one sheepsfoot from Jens and it's a great little knife :D
