Recommend software for DVD -> MPEG Transfer

I figure there are probably a couple people on here that copy their DVD's to a soft media for travel. What software would you recommend?

Since the PSP has a USB port and can read multiple formats I'd like to explore this option as an alternative to purchasing duplicates of my movies on UMD.

I have been meaning to look into the same idea so as to watch movies on my PDA.

WinAVideo Convertor will convert DVD to MPEG or lots of other formats.
KVCD or SVCD are compressed but still good quality,check out some torrent sites for instructions and software to make compressed files.
Nero has a good few options for DVD movies as well.
DVD Decrypter and CloneDVD will let you make backup copies of your DVDs, in case anything happened to the originals while on the road.
Not sure on the legalities of these options but hope it helps.
