recommendation? Benchmade 550HG Griptilian or Kershaw Blur

Both are excellent knives, but I would go for the Benchmade over the Blur. I prefer the 154CM steel in the HG 550 over the 13C26 of the standard Blur, as well as the much stronger Axis lock on the Benchmade.

I own both, and sadly (I'm a Kershaw fanatic) I like the Griptilian better. Better blade steel, better lock, better pocket clip. To make up for my non-Kershaw purchse, I went out and bought another Leek. But this time the Griptilian wins.

Both are good knives but I would have to go with the BM grip. The only thing that the Blur has over the Grip is that it is thinner.

Grips are tough buggers. I think I would go Grip also!!!

the blur and the mini grip are really quite different from each other.

'if you want a bigger, assisted opening knife go for blur.

if you prefer a smaller manual opener go for bm mini grip.

what handle material do you prefer? the bm mini grip has a frn/plastic type handle material while the blur has aluminum handles.

The A/O on the Blur is nice and it's a handful. There are no bad choices between the two. Get both and tell us what you think.

What he said. For the same reasons.
