hey folks,

i know most have and use the big boar tuskers !
so my question is what blade size do you guys
recommend ? i know some of the specs now just
not the blade size i want scott told his preference
is a 8 inch blade as a all around good blade size
here are some of the specs i know it will be 1/4
of an inch thick and 1 and 3/4 of an inch wide
and its going to be S5 steel ! i will most likely go
with a 8 inch blade but want to keep my options
open as well then theres choil or no choil ? and
what handle material i want ! most likely micarta
but what color ? i was thinking black and blue ?
but havent made up my mind thanks for your time

I just ordered a 5in Tusker, no choil, spearpoint blade, 3/16 A2.

What are you gonna be using it for? That to me dictates alot of how much blade I need.

Agreed...your intended use is important. The larger the blade, the more difficult the detailed cutting work (at least IMO). I have a larger Tusker, which I love, but have recently thought about having Scott make me one 5 inch long, and 3/16 instead of 1/4 (yes Scott....I'll call you about it). Think I might feel more in control with it.

the intended use of this tusker will just as a all round good big blade camp chores knife and all that entails ! ill soon be getting a smaller blade knife from scott for detail work so that aint really an issue at this time i just dont want to end up with a whole lot of knives that would rarely get used ! i want at the most maybe 5 blades that would get used more then just sitting pretty in the closet ! and that will last a lifetime that why i chose the S5 steel for this bb tusker ! thanks for your input

Buy one of each length. That way you can pick and chose which one would work best for you. J/K

I have an 8"blade and it is a great knife to take into the woods.

Frank I have a 8 inch blade big boar tusker and find there is nothing i can't do with it. I shot a big doe New Years eve and used it to gut skin and quarter the deer with no problems.

That's pretty awesome Mike. I did a deer one time with my 8" Buffalo knife. Actually an early version of the Tusker.

since having been talking with scott the last few days i decided
what size big boar tusker i want its going to be a 10 inch tusker:
9 inch cutting blade with a 1 inch choil ! overall length 15 inches
1/4'' thick and i think scott said its 2 inches wide ! in S5 steel
with black or blue micarta handle ! i cant wait til i get it !
