Hey guys, it's been awhile since I've posted or lurked in this forum. I've been dumping my funds towards my gun collection this past year. Anyways, my friend is looking for a 3" to 3.5" tanto folder. He's sold on the tanto blade design I guess because he mostly uses it for utility purposes. What other brands would you guys recommend besides Cold Steel. It must have partial serrations a strong, thick tip and be under $70.

For the price point, there're probably others, but the one that comes to mind is Bokers Military folder. They have 2 different sizes, but I believe the larger one is around the size you're looking for. The blade's coated, 440C, & they come CE, too.

Good luck.

an emerson CQC7 or SOCFK is imho a couple of the very best tantos bar none, much better than CS for sure.

a BM stryker or spyderco lum tanto are better utility knives though as they have more or less a std 'v' grind vs the EKI's chisel grind, but the EKI's will work ok too for utility.

well, just saw less than $70, well ya could watch for used ones lol.

I agree with SIFU1A about the Emerson CQC7. Keep an eye out for a nice used one and you will not be disappointed.

kershaw tanto blur. has a grippy handle, strong tip, ken onion speedsafe assisted open, sandvik 13c26 steel, about 50 bucks. walmart usually has em.
