Hello BF,

I'm looking for a wharnie fixed blade, and have my eye on a Hinderer FXM. But, I wanted to hear from the experts in here first. Ideally, it'll be under 9 in and suited for EDC. Thanks for your time.

Bradford Guardian knives would fit that bill pretty easily. They just came out with that style, don't have one yet or I'd post an image for you, but check here at Blade HQ

I don't have a fixed blade Hinderer, but their Warne folder is excellent. If I had money burning a hole in my pocket, a fixed Hinderer would be what I jumped.

Considering the wharnie Hinderers run $270-299 range, you could look for a maker here on the forum and get a custom made for that price (probably).

Kabar hinderance? If you’re looking at an FXM I doubt anything else will be appealing. Gorgeous knife in my opinion, wanted one for a while.

JK knives makes a semi wharnie EO1, on my list for a next purchase. I here nothing but good things about his work. I have a Gossman UNK that I really like, though it may be more of a modified sheeps foot. The little bit of belly gives you the best of both worlds. It is a great utility/EDC knife.

Here is a "not my pic" of a JK
