Hello. I am thinking about picking up a Chris Reeve Sikayo 6.5" &/or 9" kitchen knife. I have a knife block that came with a set we have and I do not believe any of the slots would be large enough for the 9" at least... not to mention all the slots are taken. Is there a block anyone has ordered to use with these that fits the knives well? Thanks!

Edit: BTW, sorry about the title... went to confirm how to spell Sikayo and forgot to finish the title! I could not figure out how to update it after starting the thread.

I wouldn't use a knife block, they can hold moisture and eventually cause even stainless steel to rust. They're also a breeding ground for bacteria. I keep my kitchen knives in the open air on magnets.

This may be a stupid question but can Stainless steel become magnetized by using these magnets? I've seen people doing this and I thought it was a great idea.

Only very slightly, and given the magnets themselves are quite strong.

Thanks guys!

Definately something to think about. Currently all our steak knifes are in a drawer. We do have a small knife block that came in a set with 4 Cutco knives, but this was a wedding present. I will stick to the drawer for now... but the magnet idea is very interesting indeed. Thanks again.
