I've had three issues just this week with some potential buyers (browsers? troublemakers? I dunno) and none of them were members. I NEVER have problems buying, selling or trading with members. It's just the freeloaders (sorry, I know that's harsh but it's true) that go postal on me for stuff I can't even help.

I recommend we close The Exchange to non-paying members.

That would affect the paying members trying to sell things negatively by limiting their buyers.

You can always stipulate who you will or won't do business with in your own sales of course.

By the way I realize I have a lot of your Kydex sheaths. I've always tried to find someone as good as, or close to Mashed Cat. You're as good.

I thought about what it would be like if the Exchange were closed to registered users only. That would certainly be interesting and I can think of a couple benefits, but there are some drawbacks as well. I do hate having to deal with tirekickers, especially when they have meltdowns for the slightest things.
The only real solution is to develop some watertight terms and conditions for sales. If the seller covers their posterior correctly, and the prospective kicker of tires is literate enough to understand the wording, then the problems should be lessened.

I know its different with each community but I'm a member (paying) of several forums that do this and it works really well. One I'm sure you are familiar with.
