Does anyone have a suggestion for multi-tool or knife to give to a friend who is on the ski patrol? I don't have any preconceptions so throw out ideas if you have them. Thanks for any help!

The new OH Soldier , the rescue tool , or the just released Dual Pro ( available from Felinrvet .

The Victorinox Rescue Tool would be a great option, it has tools that rescue people might need and can be used with gloves on.

Spyderco Saver Salt with the rust proof H1 steel. It's serrated so it would be great for cutting nylon, rope, etc. Rounded nose so he won't accidentally stab anyone. Maintenance free.

The Rescue Tool has a great curved serrated rescue blade , very easy to deploy with gloves . The Staglo scales are nice - easy to locate , hard to lose . Nothing wrong with the Spyderco Salt idea , it just has fewer capabilities . Even the "Ronald McDonald" colored sheath would work in this application .

Thank you all. I thought the Rescue Tool had some features that were more suited to EMS workers than Ski Patrol but maybe the ability to open it while wearing gloves makes up for that.

yes and on the Rescue Tool the "glass-breaker" and "belt-cutter" are removable!

the tool was made for emergency people with gloves, and it's bright colors.
