Recommendation??? Good replacement for SOD Buster Jr.

So everyone my boss broke the tip of his Case SOD Buster Jr. the other day (a present from his wife). This guy isn't a big knife freak like me but noticed that out of everyone he knows I was the better choice for a suggestion on a new knife. Here are the guidlines he's given me. Has to be under 40 bucks. Im not sure what steel the Case was but he liked the all around features the knife (blade length, lock type, size). I recommended a Spyderco to him as I carry my Para2 Grey sprint and Persistence at work, but I don't think hes a big fan of the spydies unlike me. Is there anything you all might recommend for him as a replacement with a good steel and under the 40 price mark? There was a Boker plus Trance that looked right around his criteria with AUS8 which I know is a good steel he might appreciate but the reviews Ive seen say the QC is hit or miss sometimes.

He is an electrician and is pretty hard on all his stuff. Hence the broken tip on his Case.

Tl-29 electrician's knife. Buy one and clean it up (if it needs it) and sell it to him. Or maybe a Mora, or a Kershaw if he wants a modern knife. I think a Tl-29 would be cool, because it was made for electricians.
